>> Chris' side of the story:
"My planning had taken place for quite sometime. My first goal was to get Laura's ring size. To do this I enlisted the help of Megan Schneeberg, Laura's long time friend. Megan got really creative with a story about her father buying her a class ring but needed to know the size. While Megan was getting her ring finger sized she got Laura to have her finger sized. Megan was so excited to get this information for me, she called me when she got in her car. Laura was in the car right behind her. With the ring size it was time to go shopping. Being the computer nerd that I am, I spent some time online looking for the style I liked and finding out where I could get it. I then went and purchased the ring so that I could have it sized by the time I was planning on proposing.
The next step was for me to have that 'chat' with Laura's Dad. As most of you may know, I live about 4 hours from Laura's parents so finding a way to talk with them with out Laura knowing was going to be a challenge. I lucked out, the weekend before I wanted to propose we went to The Chicken BBQ at First Immanuel. This gave me an opportunity to look at the 'big grill' that Laura's Dad happened to be down by. With that in order It was on to my last and most difficult task, keeping all of this a secret from Laura.
Now I planned to propose to her during the song 'The World' by Brad Paisley, during his show at the Marcus Amphitheater. The day of the concert I had everything planned out,
I was going to keep the ring box in the pocket of my hooded sweatshirt. The only twist, I just carried it in to the show, if I had worn it
Laura would have known something was up because I am always really warm. I then waited through 3 opening acts and half of Brad Paisley's set
list before the song came on. During the song, I was trying to sing to Laura like we always do whenever that song comes on, but she was
trying to take pictures and was getting frustrated with me. When the song came to just before the guitar solo the lyrics
'You think you're one of millions but you're one in a million to me When you wonder if you matter,
baby look into my eyes And tell me, can't you see you're everything to me' I dropped down to one knee and asked her to marry me. She was a
little shocked and suprised when she turned to see me on one knee with the ring in hand, and then said 'Yes!' and gave me a very big hug."
